What Are Anime Genres?

They serve as an advanced categorization system that guides viewers to various themes and storytelling elements. As such, each genre has its own distinct flair, from the adrenaline-pumping action of thrillers to the emotional intricacies of romance. Understanding the basics of these different genres greatly helps viewers to easily explore the vast anime environment and guide them to content that appeals to their tastes.
However, owing to the popular argument about what anime genres and demographics are, let us try to understand and clarify the two terms.
What Are Anime Demographics?
Anime demographics are categories used in Japan to define anime series based on their intended audience's age and gender. While these categories might be useful for both studios and viewers, keep in mind that they do not define the genres and anybody can love any anime!
List Of All Anime Demographics
Shonen (少年)
