Attack on Titan Theory | Is Eren the Father of Historia's Baby?
There are a few theories as to who the father of Historia’s baby is. In this article, we’re trying to get to the bottom of another AOT mystery.

Before the Rumbling started, Historia Reiss got pregnant, saving herself from becoming a part of a primitive and cruel plan to save the Eldian race. This news came unexpectedly and raised questions about the father's identity and the reasons behind Historia's pregnancy.
So, who is the father of Historia’s baby? While it’s not officially confirmed by Hajime Isayama, there are multiple subtle details that, when connected, may answer this question.
The Plan for Historia and the Beast Titan
At the beginning of Attack on Titan’s fourth season, Zeke devised a plan that included the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers, the Hizuru Nation, Eren Yeager, and Historia Reiss. This plan was meant to save the Eldian by creating new alliances and bringing stability to Paradis Island.
The first objective was for the Eldians to form an alliance with the Hizuru Nation by exchanging resources and political support. Next, Zeke aimed to initiate a controlled Rumbling to discourage their enemies and establish Eldia's power. Lastly, Zeke intended to pass his Beast Titan to someone of royal blood, securing the bloodline's future. Historia, being the sole known royal, accepted her role in this plan, understanding her duty and responsibility to the country.
However, since none of this happened, the failure of this plan rules out the possibility of Historia being pregnant to fulfill that duty. Nevertheless, these events may have indirectly influenced her pregnancy, giving rise to theories about the father of Historia’s baby.
Did the Farmer and Historia Have a Baby Together?
Despite her royal blood, Historia grew up in the countryside, living an isolated life as a farm girl. During this time, she had a neighbor who often bullied her by throwing rocks at the girl, trying so hard to get her attention. This unknown man is who the fans know as Farmer-Kun - the man who is speculated to be the father of Historia’s child.
The farmer might be the father, but the relationship may lack affection. Considering Zeke’s plan, a likely theory suggests Historia made a plan of her own where the farmer would leave her pregnant, allowing her to avoid inheriting Zeke's Titan.
There is also the possibility that they grew fond of each other and formed a family as certain details in the series fuel theories about the farmer being the father. As he matured, he wanted to correct past mistakes and assisted Historia around her farm and the orphanage, forming a closer bond with the girl. Through this, the couple supposedly got to know each other well and eventually welcomed a baby.
Is Eren Yeager the Real Father of Historia’s Child?
Historia and Eren share a unique bond. They were linked by blood, shared history, and had similar responsibilities. As a royal heir, Historia can interact with Eren’s Founding Titan, creating a special connection with the boy like no other. Additionally, multiple subtle signs throughout the series hint at Historia’s hidden feelings of affection for Eren.
While he appears distant, Eren may be the father of Historia’s child, and there is a huge detail that implies that. Notably, Historia became pregnant before Eren departed for Marley, and the child arrived ten months later—a timeline aligning with the typical duration of pregnancy in Japanese culture. Since Isayama never leaves things up to coincidence, this may be very solid proof of Eren being the father.
The next story centers around Zeke’s plan for Historia to inherit the Beast Titan. Eren was openly against this decision and, to stop this from happening, he and Historia might have secretly decided to have a child together. To maintain this secret, they could have fabricated the narrative involving the farmer's supposed role, concealing Eren as the true father.
The last, very interesting theory, draws a parallel between Eren and his father, suggesting that their partner choices are similar. According to this theory, Eren and Grisha’s love interests were the same, meaning that they both had feelings for a woman with royal blood and a normal woman. Grisha had Dina and Carla, and Eren had Historia and Mikasa Ackerman, who, while far from “normal”, is not royal either.
Final Thoughts on Historia's Baby
Just like many points of Attack on Titan’s story, Historia's pregnancy too holds a mystery that cannot be answered clearly. Various theories, while offering strong arguments, can also be easily debunked, leaving the man's identity open to interpretation.
In the grand scheme, the identity of Historia's child's father may not matter, as it didn't significantly impact the story. Whether the father was the farmer, Eren, or someone else, the outcome remains unchanged – Historia, free from Zeke's plan, welcomes a baby into the new, peaceful world.
