There are plenty of side quests within Hogwarts Legacy that send you off to collect a number of items and, usually, they reward you greatly. The Daedalian Keys side quest is given to you by Nellie Oggspire in the Transfiguration Courtyard.
She’ll tell you about the keys and where to find the first one and what the tokens hidden inside are used for. Once you’ve spoken to her and found the first key, the Daedalian Keys will begin appearing around the castle for you to follow.
How To Play the Daedalian Key Mini Game
After a Daedalian Key leads you to a cabinet, and you interact with it, a mini game will pop up on screen. The game is super simple but timing is everything. The key will fly across the screen and you need to tap the corresponding button to slap the key once it crosses in front of the key hole.
All Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
Astronomy Tower | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Astronomy Tower Key:
-
Fast travel to the Astronomy Tower Floo Flame.
-
Go up the wooden staircase next to Floo Flame and the key is halfway up.
To Find the Astronomy Tower Cabinet:
-
Follow the key back downstairs and into the Astronomy classroom next to the Floo Flame.
-
The cabinet will be on the left side of the room.
Defense Against the Dark Arts | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Defense Against the Dark Arts Key:
-
Fast travel to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom.
-
Head down the stairs on your right to the foyer.
-
The key will be flying around the skeleton.
To Find the Defense Against the Dark Arts Cabinet:
The key will lead you back up the stairs and to the left of the Floo Flame.
The cabinet will be on the right.
Bell Tower | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Bell Tower Key:
-
Fast travel to the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame.

Head up the stairs on the left.
-
Go straight through the doors ahead.
-
Key will be on the stairs.
To Find the Bell Tower Cabinet:

Continue up the stairs to the very top.
-
Continue left around the balcony and the cabinet will be on the right.
Clock Tower | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Clock Tower Key:

Fast travel to the Clock Tower Courtyard.
-
Go through the door on the left with a Level 1 Lock.
-
Go all the way to the top of the stairs and turn left.
-
The key is farther down on the right.
To Find the Clock Tower Cabinet:

Follow the key through the doorway behind you.
-
Follow it all the way up to the top.
-
Cabinet will be on the left.
Faculty Tower | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Faculty Tower Key:
-
Fast travel to the Faculty Tower Floo Flame.
-
Go down the hallway and through the door on the right.
-
Go up one flight of stairs.
-
The key is straight ahead.
To Find the Faculty Tower Cabinet:
-
Follow the key back down the stairs.
-
Cabinet is to the right of the staircase.
Hospital Wing | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Hospital Wing Key:
-
Fast travel to the Hospital Wing Floo Flame.
-
Go down the spiral staircase next to the Floo Flame.
-
Go down the hallway on the right.
-
The key is at the end, by the balcony.
To Find the Hospital Wing Cabinet:
-
Follow the key back up the hallway.
-
Cabinet is next to the statue on the right.
Dungeons | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Dungeons Key:
-
Fast travel to the Map Chamber Floo Flame.
-
Go up two flights of spiral stairs until you reach the gate.
-
Go through the gate and down the stairs on the left.
-
Go straight, past the doorway, down the hall and turn left.
-
Key is by the statue of a sleeping dragon.
To Find the Dungeons Cabinet:
-
Go up stairs next to the dragon.
-
The cabinet is at the top, straight ahead.
Second Dungeons | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Second Dungeon Key:
-
Fast travel to the Map Chamber Floo Flame.
-
Go up two flights of spiral stairs until you reach the gate.
-
Go through the gate and down the stairs on the left.
-
Go straight, past the doorway, and the key is in the hallway.
To Find the Second Dungeon Cabinet:
-
Turn around and head back to the stairs.
-
Before reaching the stairs, go left.
-
The cabinet is on the left, in a room full of barrels.
Potions Classroom | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Potions Classroom Key:
-
Fast Travel to the Potions Classroom Floo Flame.
-
Go through double doors on the left.
-
Key will be by the stairs on the left.
To Find the Potions Classroom Cabinet:
-
Follow those stairs all the way down.
-
Cabinet is at the bottom, straight ahead.
Entrance Hall | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Entrance Hall Key:
-
Fast travel to the Great Hall Floo Flame and leave through the double doors.
-
Continue straight, going through two more doors.
-
Key will be hovering above the balcony in the entrance hall.
To Find the Cabinet:

Follow the key down stairs on the right.
-
Cabinet is next to the staircase on the right.
Great Hall | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Great Hall Key:

Fast travel to the Great Hall Floo Flame.
-
The key will be by the fireplace on the left.
To Find the Great Hall Cabinet:

Follow the key back to the other side of the Floo Flame.

Turn right and go up the stairs.
-
The Cabinet will be straight ahead.
The Central Hall | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Central Hall Key:

Fast travel to the Central Hall Floo Flame.
-
Go down the stairs and down another set of stairs on the right.
-
The key will be by column left of the stairs.
To Find the Central Hall Cabinet:

Turn around and go back up the stairs.
-
Go straight and down a set of stairs.
-
Turn right and the cabinet is next to the stairs.
Grand Staircase | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Grand Staircase Key:

Fast travel to the Grand Staircase Tower Floo Flame.
-
Go down two flights of stairs and the key will be hovering above.
To Find the Grand Staircase Cabinet:

Follow the key down two more flights of stairs.
-
Turn right and go past the arithmetic door.
-
Cabinet will be on your right.
Library | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Library Key:

Fast travel to the Library Floo Flame.
-
Follow bookshelves on the right until you reach the gap with the fireplace.

The key is by the fireplace.
To Find the Library Cabinet:

Turn around and go back to the staircases.

Cabinet is behind the staircase on the right, opposite the Floo Flame.
Viaduct Entrance | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Viaduct Entrance Key:

Fast travel to the Central Hall Floo Flame.

Go up the stairs next to you until you reach the foyer.
-
The key is under the stairs on the right.
To Find the Viaduct Entrance Cabinet:

Go back down one flight of stairs.

The cabinet is on the right.
Quad Courtyard | Daedalian Key & Cabinet Locations
To Find the Quad Courtyard Key:

Fast travel to the Quad Courtyard Floo Flame.

Take the stairs up on the left side.

Key will be in the archway on the left.
To Find the Quad Courtyard Cabinet:

Follow the key back down to the open area and turn left.
-
Keep right, following the curve of the staircase.
-
Cabinet will be hidden to the right of a door.
Unlocking All 16 House Tokens | Daedalian Key's Hidden Final Reward
Once you’ve collected all sixteen house tokens, you can take them to your house’s common room. You’ll put the tokens in the chest, which can be done all at once or as you find the keys. Once it unlocks, you will be rewarded with a beautiful cloak unique to your house!
