Celebrate Korean heritage and architectural elegance with the LEGO Architecture Sungnyemun set. This detailed model captures the essence of one of South Korea’s most iconic landmarks — the Great Southern Gate of Seoul. Originally built in the late 14th century during the Joseon Dynasty, Sungnyemun served as a key part of the city’s defensive walls and was later designated South Korea’s first national treasure. Painstakingly restored after a devastating fire in 2008, this historic gate symbolizes resilience and national pride, now faithfully recreated in LEGO form by architect Adam Reed Tucker.
Ideal for collectors, travelers, and architecture enthusiasts, this set comes with a richly illustrated booklet that explores the history and design of Sungnyemun (in English, with other languages available online). Measuring over 4 inches tall and 6 inches wide, this compact yet intricate model makes a striking display piece. Part of the LEGO Landmark Series, the Sungnyemun set offers a hands-on way to engage with global culture through the timeless creativity of LEGO bricks.

Recreate a piece of Korean history with the majestic Sungnyemun!
Presenting one of South Korea's most treasured monuments – Sungnyemun. Also known as the Great Southern Gate, this majestic gateway to the South Korean capital of Seoul is the last remaining of four gateways constructed in the late 14th century to protect the country's capital. In 1962, this impressive Joseon Dynasty monument was declared South Korea's first national treasure, but in 2008 was almost completely destroyed by a fire. Fortunately, a restoration project, due for completion in 2012, will return the South Korean people's coveted treasure to its former glory once again. This LEGO Landmark series interpretation of Sungnyemun was designed by US architect Adam Reed Tucker in collaboration with the LEGO design team.
