Kotobukiya’s line of model kits based on the Mega Man X subseries of Mega Man games has been nothing short of excellent, and despite getting into this line of kits four years later than most, I’ve been in love ever since I picked up the Charge Shot variant for my birthday a couple months back. The original X is my fourth kit I’ve built so far, and while the box he came with was ravaged, you can clearly see the model itself remained intact. I decided to hand-paint this one to better emulate the box art for games such as Mega Man X5 and X6, with that darker shade of blue, but the beauty of these kits is that painting and adding stickers are completely optional. Posing and swapping accessories around works like a dream. A word of warning- as these are model kits and not action figures, they need to be handled with love and care, otherwise pieces will snap off (or fall off, like his feet tend to do). All in all, this is a fantastic kit for those who want an easy way to get into building model kits!
