In 2004, Lego released 24 construction sets for the Knights' Kingdom II. These sets were for the Castle series and each set contained a knight and had a specific code.
Set 8796 is not for a knight, but for a king and was released in 2005. This is King Mathias who rules over the fictional land of Morcia.
Not all the knight sets have the same number of pieces. What they do have in common is that:
- the pieces come in a box with the shape of a tower in a castle.
- the obtained figurine has many articulations
The articulations make it easier to play with the figurine. While displayed in a scene, everything can look more realistic, which is a big bonus for collectors.
There are 44 pieces to build King Mathias. He comes with both a shield and a sword. Additionally, his outfit includes a cape and a crown. His armor is impressive as that of a king should be.
His goal is to defeat Lord Vladek and capture Dark Fortress where the latter can be found.
