Yu-Gi-Oh is mostly known thanks to the animation that inspired the creation of the trading card game by the same name. However, unlike other similar games, this one has 2 variants: a trading card game or TCG, and an Official Card Game, shortened to OCG.
The preconstructed deck available here is a 2009 release from the TCG, specifically designed for those who just start playing the game. This deck has an equivalent in the OCG, called simply " Starter Deck 2009."
Older players were introduced to the "X-Sabers" archetype for the first time through this deck. Another novelty brought by this deck was 9 new cards, including one that the main protagonist of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime is also using. This card is the Synchro Monster.
While 40 cards of the deck have a "Common" rarity, there are also 3 cards with the following rarities:
- 1 Ultra Rare
- 2 Super Rares
The item also contains a play mat, a gameplay guide, and a list of the cards included, organized by their types, on the back of the packaging.
