>Looking for anime like Deadman Wonderland? Discover 20 top picks with unique twists, including B: The Beginning, Psycho-Pass, Hellsing, and more!
We're a small business in Wisconsin!
It is understandable that after seeing an anime as excellent and exciting as Deadman Wonderland, you would want to look for more anime like it. Since anime don’t precisely copy each other, something with a relative storyline would do.
Well, look no more; here is a list of the top 20 anime like Deadman Wonderland. You can be assured that all of these anime listed below have their unique identities and similarities to Deadman Wonderland.
And just like our products top the market in terms of authenticity and originality, so does this list, which starts from:

This anime is produced by Netflix and tells a more complicated tale than Deadman Wonderland did. It tells of all the mysteries surrounding Killer B (not the one in Naruto😂). It tells the story of an amok vigilante with supernatural abilities, an eccentric yet seasoned detective, and his sidekick, who try to bring this vigilante to justice.
All 12 episodes of this show surmise at telling a perfect tale which reveals more of corruption, terrorism, secret organizations, and more underlying plots which Keith and Lily, his sidekick, get themselves into after the Royal Investigation Service sought his help in apprehending Killer B, the celebrated Cremona Island vigilante.

Even though it is in the Seinen genre and also a movie, unlike Deadman Wonderland, that’s a Shounen anime, Akira has quite a lot to offer in relation and similarity to Deadman Wonderland and definitely can’t be written off as one of the top 20 anime that are similar to Deadman Wonderland. Just a heads-up, though, Akira aired in 1988, so the graphics are not precisely of this 21st century.
Do you remember how Ganta gained his powers in Deadman Wonderland? How did it start from a cosmic explosion that gave people powers beyond human comprehension? Well, here we have Tetsuo Shima, one of Shoutarou’s closest friends, who gets into an accident with an esper who has escaped from an institution and is wandering the streets of Tokyo.
While the government makes a last-ditch effort to quarantine this latest psychic in the hopes of stopping him from unleashing destructive power that may once again bring the city to its knees, Tetsuo starts to develop his mystery talents while being friends with the leader of a biker gang

In a world where the citizens’ Psycho Pass measures justice, law, and order, how well can Akane Tsunemori uphold justice against a system that determines criminals simply by checking their mental state with their criminal intent, giving rise to lethal Inspectors, and brutal criminal Enforcers, who use unorthodox means to fight crime?
Based on a 22nd-century Japanese scenery, Psycho-Pass is one of the few anime licensed by Funimation in the fall of 2012 and gave a sort of backdrop to other relative anime like Deadman Wonderland. Like the Undertakers in Deadman Wonderland, the Inspectors and Enforcers are a stumbling block to a thought-to-be-perfect justice system in Japan.

The 10-episode OVA of the Hellsing series, Hellsing Ultimate, tells the tale of Commander Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing. With her powerful army behind her, Hellsing fights against the living dead that stalk the night, eating the unfortunate humans who are unlucky enough to fall prey to their grasp.
Not only does she have to fight creatures of evil and darkness, she also has to battle against other forces, some of which disguise as allies. With the help of Alucard, a vampire that’s her most potent weapon, and Seras Victoria, his new servant, he must battle and ward off these forces as they stand against his master.
Hellsing Ultimate demonstrates that first impressions aren’t always accurate and that sometimes the most powerful weapon can be found in the shape of a person’s worst nightmare. This lesson is taught within the context of a conflict for the survival of humankind.

In 2010, the Holy Empire of Britannia began its rise to military power by conquering Japan. Japan, renamed Area 11 following its quick loss, is putting up a strong fight to reclaim its independence from these dictators.
The Britannian student, Lelouch Lamperouge, is caught in the crossfire between the government’s forces and those of the Area 11 rebels. However, he can get away because a strange female named C.C. shows up at the right time and gives him the Power of Kings
, called Geass.
Emboldened by his newfound power of total obedience
, Lelouch risks everything to exact his vengeance on Britannia by launching a ruthless onslaught as the veiled vigilante known as Zero.

Unlike Ganta, who was framed for a crime he only witnessed, Mario was convicted for inflicting deadly injuries on a teacher while rescuing a girl from rape. Like five other youths on serious criminal charges, Mario recently arrived in a Special Reform School. They’re all housed in one cell. They bond deeply with an elderly convict named Rokurouta Sakuragi, a former boxer. The criminals gain some optimism under his tutelage, and the idea of reuniting on the outside after they’ve served their time helps.
Rainbow tells the tale of how these youngsters struggle against the humiliation and brutality from a doctor, a guard, and freedom that’s yet unknown. And just like Deadman Wonderland, you can already guess the studio it was produced in.

Premiered in the Spring of 2014, Black Bullet tells of the confined lives of humans after they’d been forced to live behind monolith walls to preserve what’s left after the Gastrea Virus struck and turned the infected into monsters.
Amongst the humans living behind the walls are the Cursed Children, girls with superhuman abilities, courtesy of minute amounts of the Gastrea virus in their bodies. Recruited as Initiators and partnered with Promoters who protect and guide them, they go out on missions to eliminate monsters created by the virus.
While this may seem more similar to Shingeki no Kyojin, there’s no doubt that it also has other similarities with Deadman Wonderland.

Keiichi has just moved into a village called Hinamizawa and lives an everyday life with his newfound friends Rika, Satoko, Mion, and Rena. But there’s more to the lives they live, even more than Keiichi knows.
As the village’s annual festival draws closer, Keiichi learns about Oyashiro, the village god, and several other disappearances and murders that have occurred in previous years. After he notices his friends’ reluctance to tell him the truth, he is forced to question their trust, especially after some bizarre events unfold.
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is a multi-arc story about a boy named Keiichi whose mind begins to unravel under the weight of paranoia and lunacy.

What anime has a better story, which has been so twisted as much as this anime? The image for the show is a good preview as to what you will be watching, as the masks in this show shield more than just faces… they hide personalities, and even history! But the exact comparison it has with Deadman Wonderland is hidden somewhere in its synopsis, and here goes something:
Sixty years before the birth of Mi Liu, the entire population was struck with insomnia, which drove them all mad. The only cure for this turned the afflicted into vampires, who were later exterminated by the human race.
After Mi Liu and Anji try to escape from a vampire prison where he was incarcerated for bank robbery, his plan is foiled by some monsters. This encounter made him realize he was actually in Blue Town, the birthplace of Vampires. Now Mi Liu has to find out why vampires and monsters are in the facility.

24th December 2029, also known as the Lost Christmas, Japan witnessed the spread of the Apocalypse Virus, which brought death and chaos to the entire country. To salvage the situation, the U.N. sends the GHQ to restore order and control the country. At the same time, the citizens suffer their cruel rule.
Like Scar Chain in Deadman Wonderland rallied the Deadmen against the entire prison system, a rebel organization known as the Funeral Parlor was created to overthrow the GHQ in Japan. Shuu Ouma is dragged into the drama when he meets Inori, who has the Void Genome, which the Funeral Parlor intends to use in their plans.
After the vial breaks in his hand, the spilled Void Genome grants him the Power of Kings, and Shuu must decide on what to use this power for. But does he use this for good or for evil?

Are you worried about your life? Death’s terrible sometimes. No salvation, serenity, or deity awaits you. God? Maybe you mean the large black ball in the room. Now you must combat aliens and cyborg monsters to live. Kei Kurono’s death puts him in a game that tests his morals, talents, and will to live.
Gantz is not for the faint of heart, but it’s also not as basic as it seems. Explicit depictions of wealth, violence and other aspects of modern society’s ugliness are commonplace in this anime, as are scenes of graphic violence and scenes of a sexual nature, just like Deadman Wonderland.

It’s usually called crazy when you see a shy person talking to imaginary friends. But what’s crazier still is for the shy person to discover that their imaginary friends are real but exist in another realm, and they can interact with them.
Yukiteru Amano’s usual boring life is altered when his digital diary suddenly starts recording future events more than the day-to-day activities he records on them. After teaming up with a classmate who has the same diary, so they can defeat an assailant, the duo finds out they are now caught up in a game of survival, the winner of which will succeed the god of time and space.

Asides from the difference in hair color, and the mild nudity this portrays, there’s no doubt that the above image reminds you of Shiro from Deadman Wonderland. And it almost already gives an impression that this girl also has a double personality, but how true is that?
After years of being subjected to inhumane scientific experiments due to her powers, Lucy has always had a rough life. But when the opportunity for escape presents itself, she makes sure to leave death in her wake.
While escaping, she sustains a head injury which leaves her with a split personality: a child and someone with a murderous capacity. As two college students keep her safe, this tells the story of how they tread amid government conspiracy and secrecy.

Parasitic aliens suddenly came upon Earth and rapidly entered humans through neural wormholes. These ravenous creatures take complete control of their hosts and can assume several disguises to sneak up on their victims.
High school sophomore Shinichi Izumi, 16, is infected with one of these parasites. Rather than making it into his brain, the parasite settles in his right hand. Due to its inability to leave its host, the parasite (now known as Migi) must rely on Shinichi for survival. As a result, the two must learn to live together despite their differences and fight off parasites that want to wipe out this new danger to their survival.

Ryouta Sakamoto’s peaceful life turned when he suddenly woke up on an island with no recollection of how he got there. Waking up to see a green crystal in his hand, he realized he was on an island and living in a game he used to play in real life.
Forced to kill other players in a bid to return home, he teams up with Himiko, and as the duo attempt to get off the island, they get nearer to the truth behind the game. Btooom! It isn’t just a game but also an anime that tells the tale of people who have to fight for their lives, neglecting morals and standards.

Whenever there is an apocalyptic occurrence, the lives and fates of people are altered, some more than others. But also, even an anime director’s mental state could sometimes be felt in their works, as Director Hideaki’s depression could very well be seen, perfectly mirrored in Shinji Ikari’s life.
This is still one of the oldest yet relevant mecha anime out there. It tells the tale of an apocalyptic world, as humans use giant robots to fight against monstrous celestial Angels, who seek to wipe out the entire human race. But while a traumatized son battles angels, everyone is oblivious to his father’s evil machinations.

Now here is one anime that needs no introduction. Even newbie otaku know this anime, and it’s still fresh in everyone’s memories, especially as the season finale was just concluded some months ago.
Shingeki no Kyojin talks about many things, ranging from the Corps’ bravery to sacrifice, fight for survival, and protection of humanity against extinction at the hands of Titans. But seeing as these humans are confined behind walls, they’d often have to go out on expeditions to kill a few titans and then return home.
And out of the blue, we see Eren Jaegar and some other humans having the power to transform into intelligent Titans, unlike other brainless
Titans. But does this bode well for the young boy?

Another has to be one of the top 5 anime similar to Deadman Wonderland, for its relative similarities to the Shounen anime. Though Another is a Seinen school anime in itself, it still presents some semblance of the prison Shounen that Deadman Wonderland is.
And while it has a lot in common with Deadman Wonderland, it does tell the story of Kouichi Sakakibara, who befriends Mei Misaki against words from his friends. After getting engrossed in the curse that plagues his class, Kouichi sets out to uncover the truth about the mystery and how it connects with Mei.

Rated as one of the top gory anime of the 21st century, Tokyo Ghoul tells the tale of a weak, shy, and regular kid and how a single night’s mishap changed his entire life, till eternity, of course! The weak young ones are always mistakenly gifted with some crazy powers.
Ken Kaneki is a shy middle schooler who’s oblivious to the existence of other beings that look human around him. But while an accident almost killed him, he was saved with a Ghoul’s organ, making him a special breed of Ghoul, the One-Eyed Ghoul.
How does Kaneki find this new life with new powers and desires? And with a government body out to eradicate the world of Ghouls, how does this all change his life?
