Pandemic on the Brink expansion by Z Man game provides additional content for the Pandemic base game. The expansion includes: option to increase player count to 5, 7 new role cards, each with their own special abilities, the option to add a fifth player, 8 new events, 5 petri dishes to hold the viruses and three completely new modules that increase the difficulty and replayability for those that already own Pandemic.

The three new modules include:

The virulent strain challenge: Base game epidemic cards are replaced with expansion cards. These add an additional effect to the most prevalent virus, on the board when the first epidemic is drawn, making it more difficult to cure. The effects are cumulative and with 8 cards to choose from, each game is different

The mutation challenge: 2 new mutation cards added to the discard pile. When drawn, they add a new purple virus to the map. To cure the virus, players collect 5 city cards with one containing the mutation. Three Mutation cards are added to the events deck. When drawn, 3 purple virus tokens are placed on the net city card. with only 12 purple virus tokens, the game can end quickly if players don’t cure the mutation.

The Bio-terrorist challenge: Saboteur player is added, utilising hidden movement on their own paper, pandemic map. The Bioterrorist takes a turn after each player and can infect cities, with the mutated virus, sabotage research bases and move. However, when the Bioterrorist occupies a hero’s space they are spotted, place their pawn on the board and can be arrested by the other player. This module cannot be played with the mutation challenge.

The Bio-terrorist wins if heroes lose the game. So now, it is not just the game, but a player who the heroes must defeat.

The Expansion adds so much to the game: more decisions, greater depth and increased replayability.

GAME OVERVIEW:

Space Movers: 2201 is a cooperative sci-fi adventure board game that takes place in the year 2201. You and your fellow players play the role of crew members on board the space ship Liberty, which specializes in picking up and delivering cargo from planet to planet in the system. Your job as a Mover is to get the cargo to its destination as efficiently as possible while avoiding drawing too much attention from the Universal Oversight (UO).

The UO is the corrupt and evil government elected by the planets to police the system. They watch all movement through the system to keep order and dispatch UO Scouts to chase down and interrogate Movers who have been spotted delivering cargo. If you draw too much attention from the UO, your job will become impossible. You and your fellow players must work together to deliver cargo, avoid UO Scouts, and quickly handle any Events that pop up along the way.

To win the game, you need to complete a set of five Objective Cards. These cards directly continue the story that begins in the included graphic novel Finding Liberty. A 20-card random objective card deck will also be included with the game, allowing players to choose five cards from this deck for a fresh experience each game.

UNIQUE DICE-ROLLING MECHANIC:

One of the most unique features of Space Movers: 2201 is its dice-rolling mechanic. The game box includes a specially designed roll board where rolls take place, one die at a time instead of all at once. For each skill needed in the check, one die will be rolled needing a 5 or higher for success. Players are encouraged to strike dice already rolled in an attempt to change the result as needed. After all the dice are rolled, one last roll is made using the blank six-sided die, signaling the end of the skill check and giving the player one last attempt to change any previous die results.

COMIC BOOK AND GAME SOUNDTRACK:

The game comes with a 20-page comic book called "Finding Liberty" that sets the story and tone for the game. Players can continue the story as they complete objective cards that match the comic book.
