Product Information

In Momiji, you immerse yourself in the beauty of ancient Japan’s Imperial Garden, striving to collect the most valuable autumn leaves to fulfill various objectives. Each player begins with a hand of six leaf cards and three unique landscape powers, combining them to create a distinctive panorama. The game starts with four random leaf cards displayed centrally and 4-6 randomly chosen objective tokens, each representing different goals such as collecting the most cards of a particular type or achieving the highest sum of visible cards by the end of the game.

On your turn, you can choose one of three actions: Collect leaf cards by taking all cards of one type from the central display, with the option to reveal new cards by paying an acorn token; Play leaf cards by placing 1-2 cards of the same type or multiple cards of different types into your player area, with specific rules for placing and closing piles; or Activate an objective token by paying three acorn tokens, allowing you to potentially score points based on that objective at game’s end.

Throughout the game, you can also discard two cards for one acorn token or spend acorns to utilize landscape powers, each usable only once. The game concludes when the leaf card deck is depleted or after 4-6 leaf piles are closed with torii tokens. Scoring is based on the topmost card values in each pile multiplied by the number of cards, with additional points for remaining acorn tokens and activated objectives.

The player with the highest total victory points, accumulated through leaf piles, acorns, and objectives, wins the game. Momiji blends strategic card management with the serene beauty of autumn leaves, offering a captivating and immersive experience as you strive to create the most impressive garden panorama.

In Momiji, you attempt to fulfill objectives by collecting the most valuable autumn leaves from the Imperial Garden in ancient Japan.

You start with a hand of six leaf cards and a series of three landscape powers that combine to form a unique panorama. (For the first game, landscapes are assigned, but they can be drafted in subsequent games.) Leaf cards come in 4-6 types depending on the number of players, with values of 0-3 in each type. Start with four random cards in the central playing area, sorted by type. Place 4-6 randomly chosen objective tokens in the center of play; sample objectives are collecting the most 0s, having the most cards of a specific type, or having the highest sum of visible cards at game's end.

On your turn, choose one of these three options:

Collect leaf cards: Take all the leaves of one type from the central display and add them to your hand; if you wish, pay one acorn token to reveal four new leaf cards prior to choosing a type.

Play leaf cards: Place 1-2 leaf cards of the same type or two or more cards of different types in your player area. Each type is placed in its own pile, with 0 being the first card you can play of a type; each subsequent card must the same number or at most one larger. Once you play a 3 on a pile, cover that pile with a torii token as that pile is now closed for you. If you play different types, then after playing, each pair of adjacent topmost cards in your area; if both cards show an acorn on the adjacent corners, you take two acorn tokens from the reserve.
Activate a objective token: Pay three acorn tokens to place an objective token in your player area. This activates the objective, and anyone might score for it at game's end.

Once during a turn, you can discard two cards from your hand for one acorn token or spend an acorn to use a landscape power or do both of these actions. You can use each landscape power at most once during a game.

When the leaf card deck is empty or after 4-6 leaf piles are closed with a torii token, the game ends. For each pile of leaves, you score points equal to the value of the topmost card multiplied by the number of cards in the pile. Remaining acorn tokens are worth 1 point each. For each activated objective, you see who best meets the condition and therefore scores points; if the player holding the token scores, they receive 10 points, whereas anyone else who scores that objective receives 3 points. Each player scores in case of a tie. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.

If you need more help, send us an email at hello@poggers.com or call us at our warehouse (262-476-5047) on Mon - Fri 10am - 5pm CST and we'll help you out!

Poggers Frequently Asked Questions

We fulfill orders as quickly as possible when we're at the Poggers warehouse, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST—usually within 24 hours of receiving your order. If you place an order over the weekend, it will be fulfilled that following Monday. We aim to hand the package to the shipping carrier within 24 hours, but depending on when the order was placed and how busy we are (we're a small family business, after all), it may take up to 48 hours to get it into the carrier's hands.

The time it takes for your order to arrive depends on the shipping method you choose and when we fulfill the order, as explained above. Carriers typically have a 24-hour handling time before your package enters their system and they start counting the shipping days.

For example, if you select a 3-day shipping method on Monday, the carrier will likely receive it on Tuesday and won't begin counting the 3-day shipping until Wednesday, meaning you should expect it to arrive by Friday, Saturday, or possibly even the following Monday, depending on whether that carrier operates on weekends (e.g., UPS usually does not deliver on weekends). Due to the variability in shipping times, we strongly suggest placing your order as soon as possible if it's time-sensitive.

We're located in a small town of around 2,000 people named “Belgium” in the state of Wisconsin, USA. And no, it's not the country of Belgium—it's a tiny town called “Belgium” that you probably haven't heard of. There's not much going on here, but we do have a nice gas station that recently opened, where we usually get our morning coffees!

Poggers is the best toy store in the world, of course! Well, we might be a little biased... (probably). We're a small, family-owned and operated business with just a handful of employees working out of a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the Midwest, USA. We sell all kinds of toys, games, collectibles, anime merchandise, and pretty much anything you’d want if you like having fun!

It's true that when you place an order, we make a couple of bucks, but instead of helping those super-rich shareholders of massive corporations get even richer, you can support us!

To be transparent, we're currently saving up to open our first brick-and-mortar location, so every order helps! We're trying to build a really cool and fun business, with (hopefully) a store that makes you say, “Wow, this place is cool!” when you walk in. The only way we can do that is with your support. So please help us out by clicking that “Add to Cart” button!

Love it!

★★★★★ Taber Long

Fits exactly as I was hoping! I've struggled to find a hat that has a theme I like while not having a massive dome that makes it look huge when worn. Quality is superb. Also love being able to support a small business that appreciates their customers!

What Other People Say About Poggers

One big wholesome nerdy family.

Just a very fast, friendly, group that feels like a classic family owned toy shop.
Every step of the way, they made sure my package was sent, tracking data and even wanted to make sure it arrived. Like a friend wanting to make sure your present arrived on time.
When it arrived, there were surprises as well, which wasn't necessary, but made me smile.
I ordered a card game, but friends of mine have ordered figurines and plush toys and have had also a great experience.
The fact this was placed during Thanksgiving and during a rough weather storm in Wisconsin was equally amazing!I
love this group and recommend it, even if it's $2-3 more compared to Amazon and other Retailers, this is such a caring retailer.
Give it a try, the service stands out!
