Sabo is the chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army, recognized as the "No. 2" of the entire organization, ranking directly below Monkey D. Dragon. In addition to being the sworn brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace, Sabo is of noble descent, the son of Outlook III, as well as through his parents the adoptive brother of Sterry, the current King of the Goa Kingdom, whom Sabo has never acknowledged as such. His first appearance was chapter 583 of the One Piece manga, published on May 10, 2010. At a very young age, Sabo ran away from his noble parents in the Goa Kingdom to live alone in the kingdom's Gray Terminal, and he met and befriended Ace not long after. Five years later, the two became friends with Luffy as well, and the three came to consider each other "brothers", swearing an oath of brotherhood through sake. They also shared a dream of settling down at sea as pirates and achieving freedom, with Sabo initially planning to do so at the age of 17. However, after escaping his parents once again shortly after they caught him and took him away from his adoptive siblings, Sabo had already set sail alone, but his ship was destroyed by a Celestial Dragon moments later. Although he was presumed dead after the incident, Sabo actually survived due to Dragon saving him, and thus he joined the Revolutionaries. Sabo had lost most of his memories from that point on, but regained them upon learning of Ace's death at Marineford. Sabo currently has a bounty of 602,000,000 Berries. The Banpresto One Piece Sabo figurine comes holding a cup of loot and stands approximately 20 cm tall.
