Cursed energy, cursed techniques, martial arts skills…the list is almost endless, especially wherever Jujutsu sorcerers and curses are concerned. Like some other Shonen shows, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime series has added an impressive power system to display its character’s strengths and abilities.

But while all these characters display varying levels of skills, abilities, and techniques, the peak of their abilities often is their Domain Expansion. The user of this powerful skill is almost guaranteed victory over whoever else is caught in it with them.

Unlike other barrier techniques, Ryoiki Tenkai, also known as Domain Expansion, is the ultimate form of Jujutsu sorcery and is a sophisticated barrier technique. It is created by infusing a Jujutsu sorcerer’s innate cursed technique into a closed personal space wherein their powers become vastly enhanced. Along with the power increase, their attacks are unavoidable, ensuring a sure hit on their opponent.

Put simply, it’s like stepping into someone’s territory where they are nearly unstoppable. Mastering Domain Expansion is a sign of elite Jujutsu prowess, as it requires immense control over cursed energy and the ability to manifest a powerful, fully-formed domain.

13. Kango An’eitei – Chimera Shadow Garden

User: Megumi Fushiguro

While Megumi bears his mother’s name, he was actually born to one of the big three families – the Zen’in Clan who are highly regarded in the Jujutsu community. With an inherited technique like the Ten Shadows Technique, which he uses to summon up to ten incredibly strong potential shikigami to fight for him, Megumi is no small fry.

However, Kango An’eitei, also known as Chimera Shadow Garden is the ace up Megumi’s sleeve. This is his Domain Expansion technique he uses to bring down opponents stronger than him. It allows him to quickly summon any shikigami he wants by flooding his domain with flowing shadows. While Megumi’s domain expansion is an incomplete type and doesn’t guarantee a sure hit effect, it increases the power of his ten shadows technique to about 120% of its original potential.

12. Tau’un Heisen – Horizon of the Captivating Skandha

User: Dagon

Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, Dagon’s Domain Expansion, may appear serene; a tropical beach with tranquil waters, but it conceals a lethal force. Upon activation, it releases numerous cursed shikigami fish and other water-based life forms that autonomously fly toward and attack enemies. Mahito himself is a powerful Special Grade cursed spirit that materialized from humanity’s fear of water and water-related natural disasters.

His seemingly tranquil domain is deadly, as demonstrated in the Shibuya Incident Arc, where Dagon trapped Megumi, Naobito Zenin, Maki, and Nanami in his domain. The four Jujutsu sorcerers were almost defeated by the relentless attacks until Megumi intervened, weakening the domain's sure-hit effect with a simple domain. However, it was Toji Fushiguro's intervention that ultimately defeated Dagon, freeing the sorcerers. Though it is not the strongest domain, Horizon of the Captivating Skandha is still lethal and deceitfully appealing.

11. Graveyard Domain

User: Smallpox Deity

Hosogami, the Smallpox Deity, is a cursed spirit summoned by Kenjaku that has a uniquely terrifying Domain Expansion. The Graveyard Domain traps opponents in a coffin within a graveyard setting. If they don't escape in three seconds, the Deity uses its Gravestone Technique to drop a large boulder onto the coffin and crush the trapped fellow. The curse’s main attack infects the target with deadly smallpox, ensuring death, making it an effective technique is both swift and deadly. However, despite its overwhelming power, Mei Mei managed to outsmart the curse, narrowly escaping its grasp while feeling genuinely threatened by it.

10. Gaikan Tecchisen – Coffin of the Iron Mountain

User: Jogo

Jogo's Domain Expansion is called Coffin of the Iron Mountain, and it stands out as one of the strongest in Jujutsu Kaisen because of its overwhelming power and lethal accuracy. This domain traps its target within a searing volcano, where the extreme heat can obliterate even the most experienced sorcerers in an instant.

Alongside his ability to control fire, Jogo possesses the power to manipulate volcanic earth, enabling him to launch inescapable attacks. The interplay of extreme temperatures and persistent earth-based attacks guarantees that those trapped within the domain face almost inevitable demise. Its deadly efficiency and unavoidable nature establish it as one of the most powerful domain expansions.

9. Shikkushikku Shiku – Threefold Affliction

User: Yorozu

Just like Sukuna, Yorozu was a formidable sorcerer during the golden age of Jujutsu, the Heian Era. She was even able to hold her own against Sukuna during the Culling Game. Her technique is one of the most unsettling and powerful domains in Jujutsu Kaisen, as it depicts everything horrific in nature. Yorozu’s Domain Expansion, named Threefold Affliction, spawns an expansive, vacant area. Yet the most striking features are the unsettling, mushroom-like appendages and the large organic formations that resemble insect brains floating menacingly within the space.

The guaranteed impact of Threefold Affliction extends to all of Yorozu’s crafted items, particularly the True Sphere, her ultimate weapon. Once inside her domain, all objects or opponents are killed at her whim, making it a powerful technique capable of crushing her opponents with ruthless efficiency.

8. Jiho Gekkyuden – Time Cell Moon Palace

User: Naoya Zen’in

Naoya Zen’in's Domain Expansion, Time Cell Moon Palace, is both terrifying and precise. After his death and resurrection as a cursed spirit in the Culling Game, Naoya pursued revenge with an even deadlier power. His domain enforces his Projection Sorcery, compelling anyone inside to move at 24 frames per second. Those who disregard this rule face cellular attacks, causing their bodies to freeze and suffer significant damage.

The term "cell" in the domain's name highlights this brutal and intricate cellular attack. Luckily, Maki, having no cursed energy, managed to evade this lethal rule. However, for many others, Time Cell Moon Palace is an inescapable trap of immense suffering and one of the most powerful domains in Jujutsu Kaisen.

7. Chubuku Shishi – Deadly Sentencing

User: Hiromi Higuruma

Hiromi Higuruma’s Domain Expansion, Deadly Sentencing, chillingly reflects his past as a defense attorney. When activated, the domain creates a small courtroom, overseen by the eerie shikigami, Judgeman. His opponent(s) must defend themselves against crime accusations, with the judgment relying on arguments rather than truth.

If found guilty, the convicted lose their cursed techniques and Higuruma acquires the Executioner’s Sword, a blade which can deliver instant death. Violence is not allowed during the trial and everyone must adhere to Judgeman's rules. This domain's mechanics are among the most terrifying in Jujutsu Kaisen, stripping opponents of their power and forcing them into a life-or-death trial with only one chance to defend themselves. Higuruma's domain is a stark reminder that justice is not always fair.

6. Zasatsu Bakuto – Idle Death Gamble

User: Kinji Hakari

Kinji Hakari’s Idle Death Gamble is one of the most confusing and powerful Domain Expansions in Jujutsu Kaisen. This domain resembles a giant Pachinko machine and is centered on chance. When Hakari hits a jackpot, he gains immense cursed energy for a brief period, rendering him nearly invincible and allowing him to heal instantly from any injury. After the invincibility period concludes, he can activate Idle Death Gamble once more, creating a potentially endless cycle of power. This domain's randomness and potential for infinite recursion make it one of the series' strongest, blending luck with great destructive power.

5. Jihei Endonka – Self-Embodiment of Perfection

User: Mahito

Mahito's Self-Embodiment of Perfection is among the most terrifying techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen. This was performed in his fight against Kento Nanami and Yuji Itadori, where fans witnessed the extent of this terrifying power. Mahito, a deadly cursed spirit with his soul-shaping ability through touch, took things to another level with his domain, enabling him to transfigure souls without contact. The domain ensnares opponents in an eerie realm of giant hands, granting Mahito complete and direct access to their souls.

The domain guarantees Mahito's immediate victory over anyone trapped within it, as demonstrated when Nanami was prepared to concede defeat immediately when he got trapped inside the domain. Yuji's sudden arrival was the only thing that saved him, as Sukuna's presence thwarted the domain's attempt to touch Yuji's soul. Despite his youth and inexperience, Mahito's Domain Expansion easily places him among the strongest cursed spirits.

4. Taizo Hen’ya – Womb Profusion

User: Kenjaku

Kenjaku’s Domain Expansion, Womb Profusion, remains one of the most terrifying techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen, despite only being briefly showcased. Like Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine, Kenjaku’s domain doesn’t rely on a barrier, instead manifesting as a grotesque, towering pillar of cursed spirit faces. This eerie structure emanates immense power. Its sure-hit effect channels Kenjaku’s most devastating attack, Uzumaki, obliterating anything within range.

First unleashed against Yuki Tsukumo during their battle in the Star Corridor, the domain left the powerful special-grade sorcerer grievously injured, and even Tengen, a barrier expert, struggled to dismantle it. While little is known about Womb Profusion, its fleeting presence established it as one of the series' most formidable Domain Expansions.

3. Shingan Soai – Authentic Mutual Love

User: Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta’s Domain Expansion is recognized as one of the most powerful and unique in the series. It manifests as a chilling expanse of cross-shaped brick debris littered everywhere, each piece embellished with numerous katanas. These weapons are infused with the different cursed techniques that Yuta has copied in his encounters with various opponents. This extensive collection of weapons provides him unlimited access to numerous cursed techniques, allowing him to execute powerful, sure-hit attacks.

The design of the domain, intricately woven with ropes that depict and symbolize love, deepens Yuta’s bond with his abilities. The strength of Shingan Soai, or Authentic Mutual Love lies in its ability to use the domain’s guaranteed impact on each of these copied techniques, overpowering opponents with unyielding accuracy. In a showdown against Sukuna, the domain demonstrated remarkable resilience against the king of curses, showcasing Yuta’s potential and power as a special grade sorcerer.

2. Fukuma Mizushi – Malevolent Shrine

User: Ryomen Sukuna

Ryomen Sukuna's Domain Expansion, Malevolent Shrine, is regarded as the most formidable in Jujutsu Kaisen. In contrast to conventional domains, it does not impose a barrier; rather, it materializes within the environment, creating a Buddhist shrine embellished with skulls. This distinctive characteristic provides Sukuna's domain with a significant edge by establishing an expansive area with a binding vow that extends its effective attack range to almost 200 meters.

His slashing techniques strike everything continuously within this range: Cleave, which focuses on objects with cursed energy, and Dismantle, which eliminates objects without cursed energy. The extensive range and assured impact of Sukuna's domain expansion render it the most powerful, obliterating anything that happens to be caught within its grasp.

1. Muryokusho – Unlimited Void

Users: Satoru Gojo and Yuta Okkotsu

Satoru Gojo's Unlimited Void is widely considered the strongest Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen, embodying the pinnacle of cursed energy mastery. Gojo's power stems from his innate techniques, Six Eyes and Limitless, which allow him to manipulate space and cursed energy with near-infinite precision. His Domain Expansion is a terrifying realization of these abilities, plunging his opponents into an overwhelming void that floods their minds with an infinite amount of information.

When caught within Unlimited Void, opponents are paralyzed, experiencing everything and nothing simultaneously. This overwhelming sensory overload renders them completely helpless, as they cannot process the infinite knowledge forced upon them. Even against the likes of Jogo, a powerful cursed spirit, felt completely overwhelmed in Gojo's domain. When Gojo activated it, only Yuji escaped its effects by being in direct contact with Gojo.

In essence, Unlimited Void exemplifies Gojo’s position as Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest character leaving no room for resistance once trapped. The complexity and raw devastation of his Domain Expansion make it unparalleled, solidifying Gojo’s dominance over any battlefield.
