Product Description

"Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis" is a manga that first appeared in 1949. It is also known simply as "Metropolis" and as "Robotic Angel" in Germany. The title of the manga was changed in this country because there already was a movie named "Metropolis" which was released in 1927.

As the title might suggest, Osamu Tezuka is the author of this manga. It took up to 2001 for this manga series to be turned into anime, and just not any animation, but a feature film.

The action takes place sometime in the 20th century, in Metropolis, a tri-level world. In this world, "The Red Party" is a murderous secret society and its ruler is Duke Red, a master of disguise. He plans on revealing to the world a powerful robot named Tima. Rock is Duke Red's son and he doesn't trust robots. As such, he wants to find and destroy Tima. Get this Blu-ray and DVD Steelbook Edition to find out how things will end!

The movie is on the Blu-ray disc while the DVD has some bonus content, including some interviews with a few of those involved in the production of the film. The language is Japanese but there are English subtitles.
